Legacy Building Solutions and the River Cree Resort and Casino have broken ground on The Venue, a new concert and event center expected to open in Enoch in the fall of 2015.
Following the sudden closing of the previous Venue at the River Cree after an engineering review found that the structure did not meet code, the management needed a new, code-compliant event space contracted, designed and constructed as quickly as possible. They turned to Legacy Building Solutions of Canada for a custom fabric structure on a rigid steel frame.
“Legacy was chosen because we were able to customize the new venue to meet the River Cree Resort and Casino’s exact demands,” said Jim Kumpula, general manager of Legacy Building Solutions Canada. “Our fast-track process means that the building will be ready for events within about four months, far less time than most builders can manage.”
The new event center will be 140 x 220 feet, with an additional lean-to for a full bar and storage. There will be a second-floor mezzanine with box seating, the total capacity of up to 2,500, washrooms, and a foyer with an indoor connection to the River Cree Resort and Casino.
Legacy Building Solutions are delivering the project of Canada as a construction management project.
The design and construction of the building were completed in four months. Full information about the completed project is available:
“The interior fabric skin of this structure allowed for minimal reverberation within the venue, providing the client with high-quality acoustic attenuation in the entertainment space. This also allowed the mechanical systems mounted on or beside the structure to be deadened by the internal/external fabric lining.” --TWS Engineering
