The Venue at River Cree Resort & Casino Now Open
The new event centre at the River Cree Resort & Casino has officially opened! The Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band, helped the crowd ring in the new year on December 31, 2015.
Legacy Building Solutions of Canada constructed the new entertainment venue, which features a larger stage and seating for up to 2,500, including a second-floor mezzanine. The fabric structure is fully insulated for year-round use and better interior sound quality.
“I think the actual acoustics are going to work better here with the actual walls being the way they are, rather than the tent which absorbs a lot of the sound,” Gavin Pring of The Fab Four told Global News before the show.
The main area of The Venue measures 140 feet by 220 feet, with an additional lean-to for storage and a full bar. The entertainment centre has its own washrooms and a foyer that connects directly to the main casino.
“Legacy was chosen because we were able to customize the new venue to meet the River Cree Resort and Casino’s exact demands,” said Legacy's general manager in Canada. “Our fast-track process means that the building will be ready for events within about four months, far less time than most builders can manage.”
“Legacy is proud to have played a part in bringing these acts to the Edmonton area. “I don’t think anyone else could have constructed a building of this quality in as short a time.” In addition to the actual construction of the building, Legacy provided construction management services, overseeing subcontractors throughout the building process.
Acts scheduled to appear at The Venue in Enoch, Alberta, include Smokey Robinson, Lonestar, Joel McHale and Huey Lewis & The News.
